General Information
City of Tracy Municipal Code 5.08.130 (a) It is hereby declared unlawful for any dog, not duly vaccinated, licensed, and registered in accordance with the provisions of this section, to be kept or possessed in the City of Tracy by any person.
5.08.130 (b) Any person desiring to keep a dog in the City of Tracy, within ten (10) days after the dog attains the age of four (4) months and prior to licensing the dog, shall have the dog vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian with a canine rabies vaccine.

Dog License Requirements: must meet ALL requirements
Tracy Municipal Code 5.08.130 requires that all dogs over four months of age be vaccinated against rabies and licensed.
Rabies Vaccination Schedule
- Dogs vaccinated between 4 and 12 months of age must be revaccinated in one year.
- Dogs over 12 months of age must be revaccinated at least once every three years.
- If there is no proof of a prior rabies vaccine for a dog over the age of 12 months, the first vaccine is only valid for one year.
Licensing Schedule
Licenses are required and payable when:
- The dog reaches 4 months of age
- 30 days after acquiring a new dog
- 30 days after becoming a new resident of the City of Tracy

- the pet's Spay/Neuter Certificate (if applicable)
- your valid photo ID
